Right, seemingly this is a feature not a bug. Jan-Maarten van Vredenburch has had to point it out to me. For this reason they're still using 2.67 and 2.67 has remained as an option on my website. What I've just done is relink 2.72 with Justin Fletcher's StubsG - result a version of the program that will run on Iyonix and older machines without any need to update modules. If you're already using 2.72 there is nothing to do. However if you're a 2.67 user you can now upgrade - however note you will still have to upgrade the handful of applets which use compiled code - things like the fill applet and colour supplement. A list of these is given in the upgrade documentation. I am already using 2.72 with newer modules and newer applets. However, from time to time newer (32 bit) modules appear. So, I wonder would it be wise to 'switch' from the 32 bit version 2.72 to the 2.72 version "of the program that will run on Iyonix and older machines without any need to update modules." Or, will this happen transparantly in a possible future release of 2.73? Or, doesn't your announcement mean, that there are 2 different versions of 2.72? > However if you're a > 2.67 user you can now upgrade - however note you will still have to > upgrade the handful of applets which use compiled code - things like > the fill applet and colour supplement. All being well 2.73 will be linked with StubsG - so it will work without the latest Castle shared C lib. The idea here is to make a small step forward. >Or, doesn't your announcement mean, that there are 2 different versions of >2.72? The announcement means there are two versions of 2.72 - quite naughty, but you can tell them by the date in the info box. It occurred to me overnight that the upgrade won't actually work, this is because the !Freshen is a 32 bit version, I suppose you could apply the patch by hand (it only consists of copying files). Anyway I will produce a StubsG version of Freshen and fix the upgrade this afternoon. -- David Pilling email: david@pilling.demon.co.uk web: http://www.davidpilling.net post: David Pilling P.O. Thank you David for your reply and for forwarding John Cartmell's reply. I am using an Iyonix with RiscOS 5.03, OvPro v.2.72, Tablemate v.5.00a (I seem to remember that I replaced a module to make this 32-bit compatible) and Printer v. 1.67. This setup used to work OK. I have recently installed EasyFontPro v.5.11 and so far as I know !Fonts is also running - could there be a clash between them? Regarding John's suggestion of using Draw: this is the work around that I have been using. A Draw file in OvPro still prints the blank table, but if I Convert To Path then although it looks horrible on screen it prints out properly. Doing this for every table in a document though is not very convenient to say the least. Am I the only one to suffer this problem? Thanks for any more suggestions that may be offered. No. You are not alone! However, I have found that the problem does not manifext itself immediately, but only after the system has been running for a while. Possibly some s/w loaded later is interfering, but I have not yet managed to find out what. I use SPrinter from David Pilling to test whether the problem exists yet, and if it does I do a quick reboot and try again. I transfer this table to a frame in OvPro and it prints only a blank table. I save the table from TableMate as a draw file and drop it into OvPro and also put the same file into Draw and convert to path, dropping this into Ovpro. Printing this produces a blank table for the plain draw file and a complete table with text from the convert to path file. I create a rectangle in draw and insert some text into that. This prints OK from Draw. I transfer this to a frame in OvPro and it prints the rectangle without the text. I go back to draw and do a Convert to Path and put this into OvPro and it prints OK. Does this help at all?
