Any border I think, but the one that it usually happens on is ArtDeco (ie the first in the list) If I set border width 1mm then it prints a 4mm wide black border. If I set border width to 4mm or greater it seems to work Ok. I think the problem is to do with setting a border width less than the draw file needs, although it doesn't seem to print the black border the same width as set, but as wide as the draw file would need. IYSWIM. I must admit that it usually happens to me when I forget that the plain border isn't at the top of the list any more and just set the 1mm border thinking I've got the 'built in' plain border in OP. The first I know about it is when I print out and get the 4mm wide ugly black bars. The version of TransDDF I have is 1.09 24/02/98, and I have it in the AutoRun directory within !OvnPro. What happens is that I save text with styles from version 4.13 of Impression Publisher. If I just drag it into an OPro frame, the whole file is displayed with all the formatting commands, etc. If I set the file type to &707, and drag it in to an OPro frame, I get a Postmortem illegal address error window opening. If I uncomment the line in TransDDF.Run (|Set FFGServer$TransDDFa -T &FFF &B25 -R TransDDF$Dir) I get the same error, even if I set the file type back to Text. I've tried saving from Impression with "Save DDF in version 2.1 format" both ticked and unticked, but it makes no difference. I know that the new version of OPro will have direct Impression import - this was what sold it to me at Wakefield after all - but I have some Impression format document templates I need to use, and as I am trying to get my head around the differences I really would like to have a relatively simple method of converting these documents without having to duplicate a lot of the effort that went in to their original making. In case it makes a difference, I am using RISC OS 4.02 on a StrongARM RiscPC, with 32+16+2MB RAM. If anyone has this sorted, or if there is a later version of !TransDDF, can you please let me know? This is a hairy area and the settings are what I found was for the best. In general you should be able to position the info palette above the window bottom scroll bar and it remain there as the window is resized or moved - a quick check, that seems to work for me. Probably there's room for improvement. I'm only trying to summarise the current situation above. Yes, and no. You probably should read the document on the web site about RISC OS 4 problems. The trouble with all the transloaders is that a common component won't work on RISC OS 4, this is not the actual conversion code but a bit of ticky tacky that lets it work. The versions on the web site have had this changed (without any change in version number unless the actual conversion code has changed), or you can download the fixed bit of code and stick it in all your transloaders. Quick fix, copy !TransDDF.!Server into !TransRTF.!Server. Me too, and if I turn off 'keep on screen' in the templates file it even does it when I resize the window from the resize button rather than by just dragging the window. Between one sentence and the next there is often a double-space, but sometimes a single! What I want to do is to use F4 Search, to search for every double-space in turn, showing me where they are in the text, and leaving them if they are between sentences. Otherwise I confirm if they are to be replaced by a single. The trouble is that after 2 or 3 pages of searching something goes wrong. I get a situation where the Search box reports it HAS found the next occurrence, but I cannot see the black highlighting. Possibly it is two pages lower down and the screen has not scrolled up. But on some occasions it seems totally invisible, and I don't know where it has got to. 2) The other problem relates to dropped initials for a paragraph. I have a style set for this. Usually it looks very good. But if the para happens to start with a single opening quote (Alt-144) it refuses of course to apply the large initial letter. I can get it only by deleting the quote. How can I fix this letter and re-insert the opening quote? I look forward to your help! It is not regarded as good typographic or DTP practice but is a secretarial practice associated with typescript. So a simple search for two spaces and replace with one throughout should be appropriate. I hate to admit, but the converted text goes in to Publisher (which has the double space search adn replace option) and then, without styles, into Opro. Is anyone using a Canon 7100 printer with Ovation? I have a peculiar problem with coloured text and the tint control: Red text looks very dark. If I select tint to be less than 100%, strange things happen; at 80% the output is purplish; at 60% and 40% the print is green. Black is fine, but if I want grey I get first blue/black at 80% then green at lower settings. If I do a screen shot (using paint) of the various colours, load that into an Ovation window then print, all is well The machine is a strongarm device with 64 + 2MB driving through Spacetech's PhotoReal. Printout seems fine with Photodesk. I know I'm doing something daft, but what is it??? Isn't this exactly the kind of thing David's Fluff applet was designed to achieve? Thank you for reminding me that what is regarded as good practice for typists does not hold for printers! Clearly I did not make myself clear ENOUGH, because > a simple search for two spaces and replace with one throughout was EXACTLY what I was trying to do, with the option, obviously, that if I found double-spaces in a position where I did want them I let them stand. I went on to say that when the document was some pages long I have a difficulty, because the highlight (black) has disappeared several pages down below the screen, and scrolling the pages down does not guarantee my finding it successfully. I am wondering whether the Search & Replace is not working correctly. Another correspondent has pointed me in the direction of the Fluff Applet. Thanks once again for your help.
